The one idea that explains the price

Servers bill you for idle time. Serverless bills you for work.

Why serverless?

A server costs money every hour it exists. A Lambda function costs money only while it runs.

Compute spins up per request and disappears after. An app with little traffic costs almost nothing; a busy one pays exactly for the work it does. That is the entire pricing model — there is nothing else to it.

no requests → no bill

02

Why does auto-scaling actually work?

Every request gets its own compute — there is no server to overload.

On a traditional stack a spike outgrows the machine and the app falls over. Lambda runs each request as its own execution, launched by AWS in milliseconds. A thousand simultaneous users simply means a thousand executions. No capacity planning. No 3am scramble.

Why DynamoDB over Postgres or Supabase?

An always-on database bills you around the clock. DynamoDB bills per read and write.

Managed Postgres runs an instance that charges 24/7 and must be upsized as you grow. DynamoDB has no instance at all — and Equalizr's single-table design keeps every lookup in single-digit milliseconds whether you have ten users or ten million. It is the same database architecture powering Amazon, Netflix, and Airbnb.

No DevOps. No cloud consoles. No config files. Front end, back end, database, and auth ship together — with zero-downtime updates from then on.

Not multi-tenant. Not ever.

Your company. A dedicated AWS account.

Multi-tenant platforms separate customers with query filters inside shared databases — one missed condition is a data leak. Equalizr separates customers at the account level: your data lives in an account other customers' apps cannot even address. Zero risk of data mingling, by architecture.
